Drinks by SMS
October 18, 2006 | CommentsDrinks by SMS: "A generous buyer logs onto bcodedrinks.com or a venue's own website, selects a bar and a drink, enters the recipient's mobile phone number and pays for the drink online. The recipient receives a message, takes their mobile phone to the bar and holds the sms drink voucher under a scanning device. The voucher is verified and the drink can be grabbed at the bar."

Minor Mobile Usability Tweaks
October 17, 2006 | CommentsHere's a little something that's been bugging me recently. It's a tiny little usability thing which would be *really easy* to fix: entering mobile phone numbers.
I've found a few times recently that some sites (whether on mobile or web) insist that I enter my phone number in "international format". Why is this? It's not difficult to convert numbers from formats like
07971 781422
(07971) 781422
+44-(0)-7971-781422
into the One True International Representation of 447971781422, but these sites expect me to do it myself, and to bother with it.
Brighton Nightwalk
October 17, 2006 | CommentsI've just seen this advertised on the SCIP mailing list: "The Brighton Nightwalk will be a live online soundscape of Brighton at night, taking place in real time from 11pm-midnight, walking through the town, and relaying whatever's going on at the time. There won't be any commentary, so the only clues to your location will be the sea, traffic, sirens, and clubbers fighting/ vomiting/ revelling etc. "
Blog aims to record everyday life
October 17, 2006 | CommentsBlog aims to record everyday life: "The National Trust is encouraging people to record a diary of their day on a website, as part of what is being called "Britain's biggest blog". The blogs will then be stored by the British Library and at other locations."
