Guardian Unlimited launches Sudoku puzzle league

Guardian Unlimited launches Sudoku puzzle league: "Guardian Unlimited and Solid State have announced the launch of a new Sudoku league which lets players solve puzzles on their mobile phones and submit scores to compete head-to-head in the online league."

Vague professional envy here :) Puzzler Sudoku has an online league but it's not as exposed as it should be (yet).

I've not tried the Guardian service myself, but it looks like they're doing some sensible stuff around leagues and pricing... Good to hear that it's "mobile as part of our overall strategy, rather than a distinct mobile strategy."

How to reform the VC industry: "Imho, money should have been funneled to TBL’s project in the early 90s, who knows how much further the web might have gotten in its early stages if there had been some money around then."

Gawd no. If money had been involved, the proto-web would have been *owned*. I can't imagine anything more likely to have killed it.

Bluetooth set to take over wireless from Wi-Fi...: "Some time in the next two years, I expect to see metro area authorities start to call for the banning of Wi-Fi except for the networks they run themselves. They'll be happy to have residents use the metro Wi-Fi, but they won't be happy to have their own critical communications infrastructure sabotaged by seeing fifteen residents each set up a powerful MIMO device on channel 11."

A Swarm of Angels: "A Swarm of Angels is a project to create a £1 million film and give it away to one million people in one year. By using the Internet to fund, help make and distribute this film I want to build a better movie."
